Philly Cheese: Not Your Average Sandwich Recipe

If you are looking for a quick and easy recipe for Philly Cheese, we've got a delicious one for you! It is not the average Philly cheese steak recipe, this one uses Philly and Swiss Sausage from Triple T Specialty Meats served inside a pita pocket.

Ingredients:

1 Medium Onion
1 Green Pepper
Oil
Garlic Powder
6-8 Pre-Cut and Ready to Fill Pita Pockets
6-8 Slices of Provolone Cheese
1 - 16oz package of Philly and Swiss Bratwursts from Triple T Specialty Meats located at 401 Sherman Avenue, Ackley, Iowa 50601. If you don't live near Ackley you can call to place a mail order at 641-847-0031.

Makes 6-8 pita pockets

Directions:

First cut your onion into wedges. (The Pampered Chef Apple Wedger works great!)

Slice your green pepper into thin strips.

Oil your pan, just enough to cover the bottom.

Add the onion and peppers. Saute until tender.

Add Garlic Powder, just lightly sprinkle over the mix a little goes a long way.

Saute with Garlic for about 30 seconds and then put the mixture to the side.

Cook Triple T's Philly and Swiss Sausage in pan until fully cooked.
(If they begin to stick to the pan add some water)

Cut the sausage into slices. Then mix the sausage and vegetables together in the pan.
Warm on heat for a few minutes.

Line the inside of the pita pocket with provolone cheese on both sides.
(Using round slices cut into halves fit best)

Fill pocket with meat and vegetable mixture.

Lay out filled pita pockets on baking sheet.

Set oven on low broil and broil for about 3 minutes
to melt the cheese and lightly toast the pita bread.
(Keep a close eye on it, every oven is different)

ENJOY!!!!
